Friday 21st February - Blue ADVANCED Skills Session 1.00pm - 4.00pm

£35.00

NEW WINTER HOURS 1.00pm - 4.00pm

PLEASE NOTE:

This session is for blue ability riders who are confident on their bikes and able to cycle a minimum of 6 miles with a good level of fitness. We will be riding off-site and covering longer distances, so it’s important that your child is comfortable with this to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone.

Focused on trail riding, these sessions are designed to help riders develop their skills and confidence on varied terrain. We’ll be covering a mix of technical and flowy sections to build your child’s ability on trails, including cornering, navigating steeper terrain, and tackling small drops.

Coaches will teach riders how to:

• Stop with control using back, front, and combined brakes

• Maintain an ideal riding position to navigate low overhead obstacles, ground obstacles, and undulating terrain

• Use their body to absorb bumps, handle inclines, and manage sharp turns and changes in direction

• Stay stable and smooth while riding through bumps and undulations on the trail

The session will cover longer distances (up to 6 miles, depending on the group) and take place on the Trail Academy’s private trails, surrounding woods, and off-site locations, providing plenty of opportunities to improve technique while exploring diverse terrain.

This is a great chance to develop trail riding skills, build fitness, and enjoy riding in beautiful natural surroundings!

Price per session is £35.00

Location:

Duke of Kent School, Peaslake Road, Ewhurst Surrey GU6 7NS

As you arrive at the school driveway, take the first right hand turning by the lodge house towards ‘sports fields’ and follow the road down to the gravel carpark on your right. Don’t drive up the main school building.

What to bring on the day: A Mountain Bike, a mountain bike helmet – in full working order (not BMX) and gloves, appropriate clothing (long trousers) and footwear including waterproof jacket (please be aware that clothing and shoes can get muddy by the end of the session so a change of clothes may be handy). Snacks and a drink.

We will conduct a safety check on all bikes and advise on correct set up before every course.

Regardless of age, ability or skill level the Trail Academy is here to help. It is our aim to make all our classes as fun and progressive as possible. We want everyone to learn at their own pace and have fun while doing it!
